American researchers conducted a large-scale work, which lasted almost five years. More than five thousand volunteers participated in the experiment, from different age groups and different sexes. All participants were healthy at the time of the experiment and had no suspicion of having oncological problems.
Experts for a long time conducted observations and analyzed the information received. According to the results of the study, it was found that those participants who suffered from snoring and apnea syndrome were at risk of developing malignant tumors.
Apnea during sleep increased the danger of developing cancer problems more than doubled, compared with those who slept during the night without snoring and breath holding. Scientists have explained: snoring and delaying breathing provoke a deficit of oxygen in the heart tissues and brain. It has already been proven that people who snore loudly often get myocardial infarction or stroke.
Researchers diagnosed 100,000 patients. They were additionally asked the same question: are there cases of snoring in a dream, was there an apnea? Also, specialists were interested in the possibility of depressing the participants. Questions were indicated in a specially formulated questionnaire, which was filled out by all subjects.
Analyzing and comparing the information received, the scientists made a definite conclusion: in those patients who had cases of snoring for five nights a week, or more often, the risk of developing cancers and depressive states was increased, in contrast to participants who slept quietly.
Researchers suggest: oxygen deficiency in tissues (in particular, in the brain) can lead to the development of depression and oncology. Therefore, they recommended to medical workers who establish a diagnosis of nocturnal sleep apnea, pay attention to the content of oncomarkers, as well as the psychological state of patients.
For a long time, the syndrome of nocturnal sleep apnea was not properly understood by the doctors. Many people lost their health, not suspecting that this phenomenon may become the reason for this.
Additional studies have shown that at least 10% of men aged 40-60 suffer not only with snoring, but also with a delay in breathing in their sleep. According to statistics, during each hour one person dies from the most apnea, or from its consequences.
What does this mean? If the problem is detected in a timely manner, it will help to prevent up to 10 thousand deaths each year. After all, the apnea syndrome can be treated if it is started on time.
The patient himself is unlikely to be able to detect this syndrome. It is worth asking the opinion of family members - after all, every night they "listen" to the main symptoms of the disease: loud snoring, breath holding in a dream. Characteristic is also a certain drowsiness during the day, because the body of the patient can not rest fully.
If such symptoms are present, do not delay the visit to a specialist.
