Japanese scientists continue to conduct successful studies confirming the connection between what and how a person eats and his health.

Thus, a relationship has recently been established between fast food intake and the development of type II diabetes mellitus, a chronic pathology characterized by a decrease in the sensitivity of human tissues to the effects of insulin.

Diabetes is currently recognized as one of the most common diseases of the endocrine system. For example, the overall global incidence of diabetes is from 3 to 6%, depending on the specific country. In total, more than two hundred million patients with this disease are registered in the world: type II diabetes is diagnosed in 90% of patients.

For a long time, scientists could not one hundred percent indicate the cause of the disease, and only now, after long and numerous studies, they were able to establish a connection between the development of diabetes and how a person consumes food.

The modern rhythm of life often literally forces a person to leave a minimum of time for food: unfortunately, we spend much more time on work, on organizing our daily life and even on transport. As a result, there is very little time left for lunch - some 10-15 minutes.

And now, scientists have presented evidence that such food “on the run” poses a danger to human health, even if healthy food is eaten during these 15 minutes.

It has been proven that eating "quickly" leads to a sharp increase in the concentration of glucose in the bloodstream. Moreover, this situation is observed with each episode of rapid food consumption. Such regular and sharp changes in glucose concentration have a depressing effect on tissue sensitivity to insulin, which significantly increases a person's chances of "getting" type II diabetes.

In addition, Japanese scientists confidently assert that the world statistics on diabetes are not entirely correct: according to their most modest estimates, the actual number of patients is much higher than the average. As was noted during the research, many patients suffer from impaired tissue glucose perception. And, although doctors do not yet diagnose this condition as a disease, in fact, it is the initial stage of diabetes.

Those most susceptible to developing the disease are adolescents, female patients, African-Americans, and overweight people.

Scientists advise: to maintain your health, do not rush during meals. Half an hour is a sufficient period of time to eat without rushing. And to make measured eating a habit, nutritionists recommend turning on light relaxing music during lunch, as well as eliminating all possible irritants (computer, phone, TV and other details). This will help you focus on the dish and tune your body to a calm wave.
