Scientists are working on creating a drug that will help mankind get rid of cancer. As experts say, they intend to create such a tool that will fight the disease for many years. To do this, scientists will make changes in the human immune cells, which will increase the protective reaction. Such an approach will allow specialists to obtain a medicine with a lasting effect.
According to some sources, the development of such a drug was initiated by the staff of the San Rafaelello Institute of Science, located in Milan. According to the doctors, they are trying to create a drug that will make the human body remember the disease, in this case cancer, and prevent its development in the future.
Specialists note that the method of treating cancer resembles a "live vaccine", which is constantly active, i.e. Is in anticipation of a recurrence of cancer and is ready to immediately block the growth of atypical cells. For the first time physicians managed to prove that the modified components can be in the body for a long time, at least 14 years.
According to Italian scientists T-cells have a powerful effect, the author of the new research project Chiara Bonini is sure that in the near future a unique medicine will be created and oncological patients will get a chance not only for a full recovery, but they will not be afraid of re-development of the disease.
In their study, the researchers involved 10 patients who underwent bone marrow transplantation operations and who received enhanced immune therapy, including those who underwent bone marrow transplantation. And T-cells.
In the course of monitoring the patients' condition, the experts noted a significant improvement in the well-being of the participants of the study, which is why the scientists are sure that the results obtained will help develop an effective drug against cancer.
In another study, scientists were able to develop a unique method of treating cancer. A group of Belarusian and American scientists, after a series of experiments and observations, created a method based on the use of gold particles. By the way, a new way of treating cancer has already passed the first tests, and the results are more than successful.
Experts tested the new treatment on rodents - all animals were injected with gold nanoparticles with antibodies before surgical treatment.
Also in therapy, a laser was used, the radiation of which promoted the formation of nanobubbles in cancer cells. The antibodies used by scientists are able to recognize malignant cells and according to experts, this study is a real breakthrough for science. Scientists noted that the proposed method allows to treat only atypical cells, while normal cells are not affected.
One of the authors of the project explained that after surgery to remove the tumor, the tissues are processed by a laser and nanobubbles "find" the remaining malignant cells in the body and destroy them.
According to the researchers, the animals participating in the experiments showed a 100% survival rate, while in the group of mice that did not receive gold nanoparticles, 80% had a recurrence of the disease, and the animals eventually died.
