Recently, the media have devoted a lot of time to a healthy lifestyle, proper nutrition. There are a lot of TV programs, magazines, articles that convince to pay attention to the diet and reduce the amount of fat and heavy food consumed. Not so long ago, scientists found that high-calorie and fatty foods adversely affect the number and speed of sperm, which can even cause male infertility.
At the University of Copenhagen, experts conducted a study, the theme of which was the effect of food on the male body. To the surprise of doctors, fatty foods not only destroying the cardiovascular system, the musculoskeletal mechanism, but also directly affect the "quality" of spermatozoa.
700 men aged 20-25 were interviewed about what foods they consumed for three months. Then the experimental young people took various tests, including the analysis of sperm. The team of Danish doctors examined the results of the analyzes in detail and made parallels with the products used. The conclusions suggested themselves: for young people who abuse fatty and high-calorie food, the total number of spermatozoa is 40 percent less than those who eat balanced. In addition, the concentration of spermatozoa per 1 milliliter is also 35-38 percent less.
While it was not possible to determine the causes of the dependence of fats in the body and the number of spermatozoa, but the relationship of lifestyle, nutrition and "quality" of sperm is more than obvious. This problem needs more careful study, but now it is worth paying attention to what you eat, because a healthy offspring is at stake and there are no problems with fertilization.
In order to reduce the risk of heart disease, avoid violations in the internal organs, and increase the chances of acquiring a healthy offspring in the future, it is not necessary to adhere to a strict low-calorie diet. It is enough to limit the use of such products that contain saturated fats: all kinds of fast food, french fries, industrial mayonnaise, butter.
Some studies conducted by scientists from Western European universities show that in the past 30 years the average number of active spermatozoa in the male population has fallen almost twofold. Physicians are inclined to think that such results are a consequence of the fact that the male representatives have become less careful to monitor their diet, which leads to both premature chronic diseases and to infertility.
The influence of food on human sperm was not found for the first time: a few years ago, scientists from Brazil noticed that men who daily eat fresh vegetables, cereals and legumes, fruits, spermatozoa are more active than men who prefer meat and simple carbohydrates .
Danish scientists are not going to stop in their experiment: the next step will be an attempt to find out the cause of the dependence of food and "quality" of sperm.
