In Great Britain, at the University of Manchester, a group of researchers led by Aravind Vijayaraghavan became the recipient of a grant of 100 thousand dollars, which was established by Bill Gates. Earlier, the founder of Microsoft called on scientists to create a new generation of condoms, because the technologies by which the existing product is produced are already more than a century old. The promised reward has already been given to the British, who plan to complete their research and launch production of a new generation condom.
A group of researchers is currently developing a condom made of a unique material that will contain a polymer material that resembles latex in its properties and graphene, a form of carbon. Graphene is similar in structure to honeycombs, this material is highly durable, yet incredibly thin. The world owes the discovery of graphene to Russian scientists Andre Geim and Konstantin Novoselov, who were awarded the Nobel Prize for their invention. Since graphene appeared in 2004, many people have wondered when the new material will be used for everyday needs. At present, it is quite possible that the new material will be used as food packaging, in the creation of mobile phone screens, and much more. If the project is successful, graphene will be present in our lives in the most intimate manifestations of it, said the project manager.
Based on the calculations of specialists, the new condoms will be more perfect than the currently produced latex products, and in all respects. Scientists plan to obtain a material that will be much stronger and safer than its predecessor, and the new condom will also be more elastic. Scientists also assume that such an important indicator as sensations during sex will become more pronounced and pleasant.
New generation condoms may be available for sale quite soon. Bill Gates is very interested in the project and has already allocated money for research.
It is also important that the new condoms may become more popular than their predecessors and reduce the incidence of sexually transmitted diseases worldwide. This is primarily due to the fact that people will not neglect a product that practically does not hide sexual sensations, since graphene is thinner than human hair. In addition, graphene condoms have no pores at all, which prevents various infections and bacteria from penetrating through them.
Most men prefer to give up condoms largely because they do not get the full range of feelings from sexual intercourse, and the process of putting them on can reduce erection (in case of the wrong size). In addition, latex products can break during use (in about 5% of cases). Experts are confident that new condoms that will combine the strength of graphene and the elasticity of latex will be the most comfortable, safe and enjoyable of all that humanity has ever created.
