In their tireless search for miracle cures for excess weight and obesity, Korean scientists have discovered a panacea that is available in almost every kitchen. Black pepper contains a substance that prevents the formation of fat cells.

Researchers from Sejong University in Seoul report the discovery of a new “miracle weapon” in the fight against obesity. Regular black pepper, which housewives around the world use almost daily both in ground and pea form, has the ability to block the formation of new fat cells.

The authors of the study, at the intersection of cooking and medicine, were drawn to the fact that ancient manuscripts on Korean medicine contained references to the effectiveness of using the hot seasoning as a remedy for getting rid of excess weight.

Using the most modern equipment, Korean scientists have discovered that black pepper contains a special substance, piperine, which gives the black peppercorns their specific and unique taste.

Further research has shown that piperine has the ability to block the activity of genes that are responsible for the formation of fat cells in the human body.

The effect on genes triggers a complex mechanism that changes the entire metabolic process in the body, and such changes are positive. Piperine also reduces the level of bad cholesterol in the blood.

The authors believe that for medicinal purposes it is possible to create an extract of black pepper that will not cause burning of the mucous membrane of the oral cavity, esophagus and stomach, but will retain all the healing properties of piperine in a concentrated form.

In ancient Korean medicine, black pepper has been used for centuries as a remedy for indigestion, inflammation, and as a pain reliever.
