Specialists from Australia have determined that fresh fish and other seafood can protect against serious diseases of the cardiovascular system. Substances in the composition of shrimp, crab, sea fish are considered several times more effective than antioxidants, which are contained in plant foods. In particular, scientists highlight the bright red pigment astaxanthin, the strongest antioxidant known to medicine at the moment.
For the first time, the above pigments were isolated from fresh lobster meat as early as the first half of the twentieth century. Later, scientists found that astaxanthin is found in shrimps, oysters, marine fish and even marine plants.
Experts argue that eating foods high in astaxanthin will help prevent the occurrence of diseases of the cardiovascular system. Of course, as a preventive measure it is better to consume fresh products, because under the influence of deep freezing the beneficial effect of seafood will significantly decrease.
Statistics of the World Health Organization suggest that cardiovascular diseases are the most common cause of premature death of an adult. For example, in 2008, from diseases of the cardiovascular system, more than 15 million people died, which is almost 30% of the total.
As a non-medicamentous prophylaxis of heart disease, doctors recommend that tobacco products, excessive consumption of alcoholic beverages and fatty foods be discarded. Particular attention should be paid to physical activity and balanced nutrition.
If we talk about seafood, at the moment it is one of the most beneficial for human health products, the properties of which positively affect not only the cardiovascular system, but also the general state of the body.
Studies by Australian scientists have shown that shrimp meat can be used during winter epidemics of colds. Australians are sure that shrimps help to maintain a healthy hormonal background and strengthen the immune system, which is necessary in the cold season. Also, experts recommend eating shrimps to people who suffer from various food allergic reactions. In their opinion, the substances contained in shrimps, can reduce the sensitivity of the body to other products.
Nutritionists recommend eating seafood to people who are trying to lose weight. Not surprisingly, sea fish, shrimp, lobsters are rich in proteins and useful omega-acids food that diversifies any diet and will provide the human body with the necessary elements for health. Seafood has regenerating properties, which contributes to the restoration of tissues and the preservation of well-being even in old age. Substances that are contained in seafood can prevent not only dangerous diseases of the cardiovascular system, but also slow the aging processes and provide care and good memory for a long time.
