Workers at Columbia University said that a few months ago a new remedy was found that would help alleviate the suffering of people who suffer from bronchial asthma. Information about the new facility was provided at the international American conference of the turgid society, which was held in Philadelphia last month.

Experts have reported that substances that are contained in the root of ginger, can facilitate breathing people who suffer from asthma attacks. Bronchial asthma is a severe chronic respiratory disease, which manifests itself in the form of a narrowing of the lumen of the bronchi. Asthma is caused by such specific immunological processes as allergy, sensitization and manifests itself in the form of attacks of cough and dyspnea.

At the moment about 5-10% of the world's population suffers from permanent or recurrent attacks of bronchial asthma. Various medications are used for treatment: symptomatic medications that prescribe asthma attacks and medications that can affect the pathogenetic mechanisms of the disease. The most common drugs today are beta-adrenomimetics (they are also called beta-agonists or beta-adrenostimulators), which are used to stop attacks of suffocation. Most often, the preparations are presented in the form of aerosols and are often used by professional athletes in order to provide the body with the so-called "second breath", arising from the dilatation of bronchioles.

The head of the group of anaesthesiologists from Columbia University reported that despite the widespread spread of chronic bronchial asthma, in recent years, only a few new drugs have been invented that can alleviate attacks of suffocation. Recent research scientists have shown that substances that contain ginger can help alleviate asthma attacks. The components of ginger are able to interact with beta-adrenostimulators and, in combination with them, can more effectively relax the airways, expand bronchioles and alleviate asthma attacks. For several months, workers at the University of Columbia studied the tissues of the human respiratory tract and the possible reaction to medicines for natural components. Specialists experimented with combinations of medicines and natural ingredients of fresh ginger. The results of the study showed that the relaxation of the tissues of the respiratory tract comes most quickly after exposure to the components of ginger in combination with beta-agonists.

The head of the research is sure that the information obtained is of great value for modern medicine. On the basis of the data obtained, the spayalists will be able to create new basal therapy drugs that can alleviate the suffering of the patients.

It is worth noting that recent research of European scientists confirmed the fact that asthma attacks can be eliminated with the help of singing lessons.
