Nowadays, many people suffer from insomnia and mistakenly consider such behavior of the body quite safe. In fact, sleep disorders can be associated not only with momentary fatigue of the body, but also with chronic diseases or psychological problems.

Recent studies conducted by scientists from the University of Science and Technology in Norway have shown that people who regularly experience insomnia and poor sleep are most likely to develop heart disease. For 11 years, Scandinavian scientists were engaged in research, the results of which showed the relationship between poor sleep and heart disease. Throughout this time, scientists have observed 50,000 volunteers aged 25 to 90 years.

The researchers claim that at the time of the start of the experiment, none of the participants complained of heart failure and had no apparent problems with the cardiovascular system. All volunteers who participated in the study had normal blood circulation and stable heart function. For 11 years, specialists conducted detailed surveys and comparative analyzes of data for each participant in the study. They were asked about problems with falling asleep, about the state after a long sleep, about the quality of sleep and the ability to fully restore strength. The results of the analysis of the obtained data showed that those people who had regular sleep disorders were several times more likely to suffer from cardiovascular diseases and are more likely to suffer from chronic diseases of the nervous system.

The conclusions made by specialists after receiving the results of the survey did not change even after additional factors such as obesity, smoking, alcohol and fatty foods were taken into account. Scientists who worked on the study, can not explain how the quality of sleep can affect heart disease, at the moment, experts are working to find out the causes of the relationship.

The head of the study believes that after determining the cause that binds sleep disturbance and the occurrence of heart diseases, doctors will be able to develop a system for the prevention of serious diseases. If insomnia can cause heart failure, then you should pay special attention to the quality of sleep and the possible treatment of its disorders.

Norwegian researchers suggest that during restless sleep in the human body, stress hormones are produced that can provoke the onset of heart disease. Earlier, a group of Scandinavian scientists found that people who suffer from insomnia are more likely to experience myocardial infarction.

The study, conducted in Norway, certainly proves the relationship between sleep disorders and heart failure. At the moment, scientists are working to find out what is primary: insomnia and restless sleep or a tendency to heart disease.
