Crohn's disease is a chronic bowel disease of unclear etiology that is characterized by the development of ulcers of the large and small intestine, and also affects the digestive system, starting from the oral cavity and ending with the anus.
With this disease, it is very important to adhere to the correct diet, because some foods can exacerbate the course of the disease. Nutritionists have identified a list of foods that are easily absorbed by the body and act on the digestive system sparingly.
- Almond milk
Many patients with this diagnosis suffer from intolerance to lactose, and almond milk is an excellent alternative to the usual one. It contains vitamins E and D, as well as more calcium than regular milk.
- Eggs
A great source of easily digestible protein, besides inexpensive pleasure. Egg white protein consists of 90% water and 10% protein, it does not contain cholesterol, and it contains almost no fat. The egg contains vitamins A, D and B vitamins, as well as choline, which is very rich in yolk.
- Oatmeal
It contains soluble fiber, which absorbs water and slowly travels along the gastrointestinal tract. This neutralizes the effect of raw vegetables and fruits, which draw water into the rectum and can aggravate diarrhea.
- Vegetable soups
Most of the diet of people suffering from Crohn's disease consists of high-carbohydrate foods that are not rich in nutrients. Since raw vegetables are dangerous for such patients, vegetable soups, in which vegetables are boiled and wiped, will be very handy.
- Salmon
Very rich in proteins, especially fish protein. Fish is a very useful product, because it is saturated with omega-3 fatty acids. In addition to salmon, you can diversify the fish menu with prawns or tilapia, cooked for a couple.
- Papaya and mango
Rich in nutrients that are well absorbed. In addition, the enzyme papain helps the body absorb proteins.
- Poultry meat
The ideal source of protein, is well absorbed by the body and has a soft texture.
- Avocado
Obligatory product on the table in people with Crohn's disease. It has in its composition soluble fiber, which is very useful for the gastrointestinal tract.
- Peanut butter
Despite the fact that nuts are a real storehouse of proteins, useful fats and vitamins, for patients with Crohn's disease their digestion is very difficult, so an alternative to nuts can be no less useful peanut butter that carries in itself the same useful substances and vitamins, only without burdening for the stomach consequences.
