A young scientist, twenty-eight-year-old doctor of sciences Olga Brovarets, made a truly sensational discovery, capable of putting the long-awaited point in the matter of combating oncological diseases.
Olga comments: "Since 1953, when Watson Creek told the world about the discovery of DNA, the light of the explanation of the problem of formation of point changes, or transformations of the genotype, also sheds light. Similar mutations were caused by built-in irregular pairs. However, the question of how exactly they are formed, and how this process is going on, remained open for a long time ".
Paired human chromosomes, called specialists, like "hunchbacked" chromosomes (due to their transformation within the environment), are able to "mislead" the macromolecule of deoxyribonucleic acid and "integrate" into a spiral. How they got it, the specialists did not know and did not anticipate until now. And only now the learned Olga Brovarets has determined a number of important regularities.
The study was carried out jointly with the curator and the project manager - it is Doctor of Biological Sciences Dmitry Govorun, who is 66 years old at the moment.
The drawback of the conducted research was that all the results and conclusions were obtained mainly theoretically, with the use of computer technology. In order to complete the experiment, having tested the discovery with real macromolecules, more advanced technical conditions are needed, which are not available in Ukraine today. Nevertheless, a group of American scientists have already conducted confirmatory experiments using the appropriate technologies: the sensational results of Ukrainian specialists were officially confirmed.
"The macromolecule of deoxyribonucleic acid - DNA - is a particle that carries all the vital information. And in the case when it becomes clear to us how the molecule is being modified, how mutagenesis proceeds, only then will we have an opportunity to protect mankind from terrible diseases ", comments V. Ilchenko, the head of the Institute of Higher Technologies at the Kyiv National University named after V.Yu. T. Shevchenko.
Thanks to O. Brovarets and D. Govorun, Ukrainian scientists became known throughout the world. Last season our specialists received the prestigious Scopus Awards Ukraine: they were noted in the position of "the best group of scientific experts who achieved excellent results without joint activities and cooperation with Western scientists".
At such a young age, Olga Brovarets is not only the most promising doctor of science in Ukraine: there is every reason to assume that she will become one of the likely candidates for the Nobel Prize in the medical field.
Let's remind: earlier the Spanish scientists have defined, that cells of cancer tumors live due to fatty cages. Studies that were conducted on rodents indicated that blocking a substance that allows a cancer cell to be fed from a fat cell can inhibit the spread and growth of metastases.
