Regular intake of vitamin preparations can provoke the development of deadly diseases - this is the conclusion made by researchers at the University of Colorado. For example, the excessive use of seemingly innocuous ascorbic acid increases the risk of calculous pyelonephritis, and vitamins such as retinol acetate, tocopherol and vitamin B can accumulate in human tissues.

Scientific experts are sure that uncontrolled use of vitamin preparations can cause not only illnesses, but also death. The study of this fact lasted about ten years. During this time, thousands of voluntary participants were examined, and their health indicators were monitored quarterly, throughout the experiment.

All scientists were divided into two broad groups. People from the first group regularly took all kinds of vitamin supplements, and participants in the second group took an "empty" drug - placebo.

When the research was completed, the staff of Colorado University summed up the results. The results were actually staggering: constant monitoring of the health of subjects showed that the regular intake of multivitamins significantly increases the risk of malignant processes and cardiovascular pathologies. For example, those volunteers who took a large amount of retinol acetate (vitamin A), in 20% of cases, had a tendency to develop cancerous pulmonary processes. The use of overestimated doses of ascorbic acid by almost 35% increased the risk of developing heart and vascular diseases.

Folic acid, despite its undoubted benefits, with prolonged use in high doses can provoke the development of polyposis of the large intestine, and also increase the growth of already existing polyps.

Among other things, the total excess of vitamins in the body affected the worsening of memorization and long-term memory in the participants of the experiment.

Carefully analyzing the information obtained during the research, experts came to a common opinion: regular use of vitamin preparations can not serve as prevention of oncology and heart diseases. On the contrary, for a person who does not have problems with nutrition and the assimilation of natural vitamins from food, the intake of synthetic vitamins can be if not useless, then even harmful.

According to the unequivocal opinion of the representatives of medicine, an additional intake of vitamin preparations is appropriate only when a person has a too poor diet, or he has digestive system diseases, which makes it difficult to absorb natural natural vitamins. So, additional intake of ascorbic acid is recommended for residents of the extreme north, and vitamin E should be taken by pregnant women for the normal development of the unborn child.

All other people can get the whole set of necessary vitamins from food - with a full diet for the body this is quite enough.
