Japanese scientists continue to conduct successful studies, confirming the relationship between what and how people use for food, and the state of his health.
So, recently, a relationship was established between fast food intake and the development of type II diabetes mellitus - chronic pathology, which is characterized by a decrease in the sensitivity of human tissues to the effects of insulin.
Diabetes is now recognized as one of the most common diseases of the endocrine system. For example, the global average incidence of diabetes mellitus ranges from 3 to 6%, depending on the country. More than two hundred million patients with this disease have been registered in the world: with type II diabetes diagnosed in 90% of patients.
For a long time, scientists could not fully indicate the cause of the disease, and only now, after lengthy and numerous studies, they managed to establish a link between the development of diabetes and the way a person consumes food.
The modern life rhythm often literally forces a person to leave a minimum of time for food: unfortunately, much more time we spend on work, on organization of life and even on transport. As a result, there is very little time left for dinner - some 10-15 minutes.
And scientists have presented evidence that such food "on the run" poses a danger to human health, even if food useful for the body is eaten during these 15 minutes.
It was proved that eating "in a hurry" leads to the fact that the blood glucose concentration rises sharply in the bloodstream. And this situation is observed with each episode of fast eating. Such regular and sharp differences in glucose concentration depressing effect on the sensitivity of tissues to insulin, which at times increases the chance for a person to "get" type II diabetes mellitus.
In addition, Japanese scientists confidently assert that the world statistics on the incidence of diabetes is not entirely correct: according to their most conservative estimates, the real number of patients is much higher than the average statistical indicators. As noted during the research, many patients suffer from impaired glucose tissue perception. And, although doctors do not yet diagnose this condition as a disease, in fact this is the initial stage of diabetes mellitus.
The most susceptible to the development of the disease are adolescents, female patients, representatives of the African-American race and people suffering from overweight.
Scientists advise: to preserve one's own health, one should not rush during meals. Half an hour is an ample time period for taking food without haste. And that the measured use of food became a habit, dietitians recommend including light relaxing music during dinner, as well as eliminate all possible stimuli (computer, telephone, television and other details). This will help focus on the dish and adjust the body to a calm wave.
