Journalists drink the most alcohol among representatives of different professions. At least, employees of the British media and publishing houses.

This was shown by the results of a study conducted by the British organization IT YouGov and the State Department of Health. The survey covered 1400 people - workers in different spheres.

It turned out that people engaged in the media, publishing and entertainment sectors are most likely to get drunk. They consume an average of 44 servings of alcohol per week, which is almost double the maximum recommended rate (3-4 drinks per day for men and 2-3 drinks for women). Mediyaschiki are also the largest consumers of wine, drinking an average of one and a half bottles a week. Journalists and publishers do not deny themselves cocktails-shots, liqueurs and strong alcoholic beverages.

Workers in the sphere of information technology drink 34 portions of alcohol every week. About 29% of the respondents confessed that they were being pushed by their colleagues to drink alcohol.

Drivers and teachers are most abstinent in drinking alcohol - they drink 24 servings a week.

The report says nothing about members of parliament, but, according to the British Minister of Health, drinking has become part of the working life of many of his colleagues.

The study also adds such sad statistics to the Department of Health: the number of liver transplantation operations due to alcohol abuse has increased by 61% compared to 1994. Doctors recommend a minimum of two days a week not to drink any alcohol, and also to devote their free time to sports in order to fight stress through physical activity.
