Unusually hot summers have become a common occurrence in recent years, but scientists say that abnormally high summer temperatures will become commonplace by 2025. Such conclusions were made by experts from the National University (Australia).
Changes in our climate regime have become inevitable, scientists are sure, and this has been caused by carbon dioxide emissions into the atmosphere. Sophie Lewis, head of the research group, noted that even if it were possible to completely stop production, the activity of which is associated with greenhouse gas emissions, global climate change will occur later by only 10 years.
Experts emphasize that human activity on planet Earth has already led to irreversible changes and new temperature norms will soon be established, which, unfortunately, not everyone will be able to survive. Presumably, this will happen after 2035. Professor Lewis noted that in the future, high temperatures (up to 50 0 C), forest fires, poor health caused by heat, etc. will be quite normal for the summer months.
But according to the supercomputer's calculations, the sharp change in weather conditions will not occur across the entire globe; the changes will only affect some regions, while in others the climate will change at a slower pace and the final change will not occur before 2100.
French experts have also made their predictions regarding the future climate of the planet. In their opinion, European resorts will become deserts in the future, and this will be caused by nothing less than global warming. According to the French, this will happen only at the end of the 21st century, and if humanity does not attempt to reduce the amount of greenhouse gases emitted into the atmosphere, a global catastrophe cannot be avoided.
The new cataclysm forecast from French experts is one of many made by other scientific groups. Incidentally, in other forecasts, scientists predict not only the emergence of a desert in place of Europe, but the flooding of part of the continents.
But many experts are sure that climate change is not only influenced by human activity, the main role in this is played by cyclical climate fluctuations, and in the future there will be global cooling. It is for this reason that a number of specialists are sure that funding funds to combat global warming is a serious mistake. Debates in scientific circles on this issue do not cease, but the public is already concerned about the gloomy scenarios of universal catastrophes.
Scientists' predictions will be correct if the average temperature of the earth continues to rise. In this case, the southern European forests will move north, and in the south they will be replaced by shrubs. It will be possible to preserve the ecosystem of Europe if it is possible to ensure that the average annual temperature of the earth does not increase by more than 1.5 0 C.
According to experts, changes will occur not only in Europe, but also in the southwestern part of the United States. This year, forest fires in the western United States have broken all records, and in the past, forest fires left their mark on modern American history, destroying more than 40 thousand square kilometers of territory.
