The Danish Meteorological Institute is concerned about the abnormal climatic indicators at the North Pole, which exceed the standard values by 20 times. Despite the fact that the temperature rise provoked warm winds, scientists note that this happened for the first time during the entire observation period. According to one of the employees of the French laboratory, which studies climate, from Africa and Western Europe, the wind brings warm air to the Arctic, which aggravates the already difficult situation at the beginning of the year due to the El Niño effect (global temperature change of the surface layers in the waters in the Pacific Ocean, as a result, there is a change in the direction of the currents).

Concerns of scientists are caused by the fact that the warm temperature of the air at the North Pole leads to the melting of glaciers, whereas in the norm every day thousands of square kilometers of ice should be built. During the whole period of observations in October this year, the minimum area of ice intentions was recorded - slightly more than 6 million km 2.

But scientists are sure that the cause of warming in the Arctic is hidden not only in the greenhouse effect. An important role in this process is played by the so-called El Niño effect and wind direction. Scientists note that El Niño leads to a shift of heated surface water in the Pacific Ocean to the east. The ice in the Northern Hemisphere is melting at an astonishing rate, according to the latest analysis of meteorological data, melting has occurred in recent years with maximum speed.

Specialists from the meteorological centers found that over the past month the air temperature over the ice peaks was above the norm by about 10 ° C. At times the temperature reached 0 0 C, whereas in the normal period it should be around -20 ° C. Already noted, such air temperatures were first recorded in the entire history of observations.

Perhaps the melting of glaciers and abnormally high temperatures in the Arctic are due to the fact that this year has become the hottest in all years that meteorologists are watching the weather changes on our planet. The Secretary General of the World Meteorological Organization in his interview noted that it is too late for people to take any steps to prevent global warming. Climatic changes and their consequences occur at a much higher rate than anticipated, in addition, climate change causes more complex processes than could be expected by researchers.

Experts of the World Meteorological Organization in their studies found that the temperature on our planet has risen already more than 1 0 C. The researchers in their conclusions noted that temperatures over 1.5 ° C will be extremely dangerous for the planet and its inhabitants . Already at the UN World Conference on global warming on our planet, experts discussed issues related to raising the average seasonal temperature. According to experts, such fluctuations lead to an increase in mortality, in particular, from cardiovascular diseases.
