Children whose mothers were exposed to high magnetic levels during pregnancy are at increased risk of developing obesity, and already in the first years of their life, this conclusion was recently arrived at by American researchers.
In total, they analyzed the condition of 733 pregnant women and their children up to the age of 13 years. Each of them during this period was weighed 33 times, and was examined for obesity of varying degrees. High levels of electromagnetic fields were estimated as relatively moderate and relatively high. In the first case, it was a situation when a child in the womb of the mother only occasionally, on an average, not more than once a week, was exposed to high levels of electromagnetic fields.
However, here again, the risk growth indicators turned out to be quite significant - the probability of obesity in a child increased by 50% compared to normal indicators. If in the womb of the mother it was subjected to a relatively high influence of the electromagnetic fields of the microwave oven - somewhere two or three times a week for a short period of time (from 30 seconds to 2 minutes), then this risk increased by 86%.
Previous studies have demonstrated that the effect of a microwave oven can have a very negative effect on the health status of offspring in both humans and animals. In particular, according to a number of previous studies, even small doses of radiation can lead to a significant increase in the risk of developing diabetes mellitus, increased glucose levels, attention deficit disorder, and a number of other disorders, primarily of a neurological nature. Also, a study conducted in mice last year by a group of scientists from the United Kingdom demonstrated that when exposure to high levels of electromagnetic fields in a microwave oven twice a week, the risk of obesity in the offspring of animals increased by an average of 2.35 times in comparison with normal rates. When cooking in microwave ovens a safe distance for finding pregnant women according to scientists' calculations is a distance of 4 meters.
