Scientists have recently reported on the possibility of large-scale warming on the planet, which should irreversibly change the climate familiar to humanity. But in the process of observing the weather, scientists have good reason to assume the beginning of another period of icing of the Earth. Record low temperatures and heavy snowfalls in the United States make us think about a completely different development of the climate on our planet.

Japanese experts, together with the famous oceanographer Mototaka Nakamura, have stated that the Earth is on the verge of climate change and is expecting another ice age. At the same time, experts are confident that icing will reach almost tropical regions.

In the history of the Earth's development, similar climate changes have already occurred periodically. Scientists have noted about 15 periods of complete icing of the entire planet, which occurred at some intervals and lasted approximately 10 thousand years. Experts noted that during the latest observations of the planet's climate, they indicate that the interglacial period in which we live is already coming to an end. The heaviest snowfalls and record low temperatures recorded in the United States of America may be associated with the end of the interglacial period. Experts note that the onset of cooling should be expected as early as the beginning of next year 2015. The peak of the ice age is expected in 2055, when (according to scientists) icing will spread almost over the entire surface of the Earth. Experts expect that the cooling will last about two centuries, after which a gradual retreat of the cold will begin.

Information that the abnormal weather in America foretells the beginning of a new ice age in the history of our planet has already been voiced by many scientists. The assumptions of Japanese specialists are supported by Russian scientists, who suggested such a variant back in 2008. One of the Russian scientists, Khababullo Abdusammatov, during his constant observations of the sun noted that in recent years the activity of the celestial body has been decreasing, and this, in turn, can lead to a decrease in the temperature of the world ocean, and this will cause another cold spell on the planet.

However, this version of further developments on Earth is not the only one. There are many supporters of a completely opposite version, according to which the planet is expecting a period of global warming, which may be much stronger than expected. Scientists note that if the level of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere doubles, the temperature may rise by 3 degrees Celsius (previously, a temperature increase of 1.5 degrees was expected). At the same time, both versions, both a new ice age and global warming, have quite strong evidence, so it is impossible to say exactly what awaits our planet.

Now scientists do not deny only one fact - our planet is facing inevitable climate change, but only time can show which of the theories will be correct.
