Scientists recently reported on the possible large-scale warming on the planet, which should irretrievably change the climate habitual to mankind. But in the process of observing the weather, scientists have good reasons to assume the beginning of the next period of icing of the Earth. Record low temperatures and the strongest snowfalls in the United States make us think about a completely different climate development on our planet.
Specialists from Japan together with the famous oceanographer Mototaka Nakamura said that the Earth is on the border of climate change and it is waiting for the period of the next ice age. At the same time, experts are sure that icing will reach practically tropical regions.
In the history of the Earth's development, similar climate changes have already occurred periodically. Scientists note about 15 periods of complete icing of the entire planet, which occurred at a certain interval and lasted approximately 10 thousand years. Experts noted that during the last observations of the planet's climate, indicate that the interglacial period in which we live is already coming to an end. Strongest snowfalls and record low temperatures, which are recorded in the United States of America may be associated with the end of the interglacial period. Experts note that the beginning of cooling should be expected at the beginning of next 2015. The peak of the glacial period is expected in 2055, when (according to the assessment of scientists) icing to spread practical across the entire surface of the Earth. Specialists expect that the cooling will last about two centuries, after which the gradual retreat of the cold will begin.
Information that the abnormal weather in America heralds the beginning of a new ice age in the history of the development of our planet has already been voiced by many scientists. Assumptions of Japanese specialists are supported by Russian scientists, who assumed this option back in 2008. One of the Russian scientists Khababullo Abdusammatov, during his constant observation of the sun, noted that in recent years the activity of the celestial body has decreased, and this in turn can lead to the fact that the temperature of the world ocean will drop, and this will cause another cooling planet.
But still such a variant of the further development of events on Earth is not the only one. There are many supporters of the completely opposite version, according to which the planet expects a period of global warming, which may be much stronger than expected. Scientists note that if the level of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere doubles, then the temperature can rise by 3 degrees Celsius (previously, a temperature increase of 1.5 degrees was expected). However, both the new ice age and global warming have strong evidence, so it's impossible to say exactly what exactly our planet expects.
Now, scientists do not deny only one fact - our planet expects inevitable climate change, but only time is able to show which of the theories turns out to be correct.
