In the US, scientists once again conducted a study on the beneficial properties of coffee and, as it turned out, this drink not only has an invigorating and tonic effect, but also improves heart function (previously it was believed that coffee has a negative effect on the heart and experts recommended limiting the consumption of this drink as much as possible or completely abandoning it).

At the University of California, a group of scientists conducted several studies and found that coffee is not as harmful as was always believed.

The experts invited about two thousand people to participate in the study. Most of the volunteers noted that they drink at least 6 cups of coffee a day. The scientists compared the survey results and assessed the health of the study participants, and found that this aromatic drink stimulates the cardiovascular system and has a diuretic effect. The scientists noted that coffee helps cleanse the body, but in large quantities the drink can actually provoke heart or vascular diseases, and also causes dehydration, in some cases, due to individual characteristics of the body, problems with the intestines are possible.

In addition, it was found that drinking coffee and the development of serious diseases are not related to each other, but still, excessive passion for the invigorating drink can cause harm, according to scientists, you can drink no more than 4 cups per day.

This beloved drink was discovered in the 17th century and quickly spread around the world. At first, the aromatic drink was viewed with distrust, but in the 19th century, coffee was widely consumed as an invigorating drink until the harmful properties of coffee were discovered in the mid-20th century.

But recently, scientists have turned their attention to coffee again, and more than one study has proven that coffee has a lot of useful properties, if, of course, you don’t abuse it. Scientists have also studied the properties of tea and chocolate and have not found that these products can harm your health.

It is not only coffee that can pose a health hazard, but also the coffee machine, in which, according to recent studies, scientists have found harmful bacteria.

Spanish experts studied the grounds from 10 different coffee machines and found that the microorganisms that multiply in them are resistant to various external influences - it is known that coffee beans have an antibacterial effect, however, the bacteria felt great in this environment, and they were also not affected by high temperatures (during the preparation of the drink, the coffee machine heats the water to 96 0 ).

Further studies have shown that coffee grounds are an excellent environment for the reproduction of bacilli and acinetobacter, the emergence of harmful microorganisms is facilitated by the process of fermentation of coffee beans. Various types of enterococci have also been identified in coffee machines, which pose the greatest danger to human health, since they can provoke quite serious diseases, such as inflammation of the spinal cord, brain, urinary tract infections, etc.
