Nowadays, adults die much more often from suicide than from accidents or from premeditated murders. Annually from a suicide dies more than one million person. Studies conducted at the Center for the Prevention and Control of Deadly Diseases show that in the last 13 years the number of suicides committed in the United States has increased by 30-35% over the past 13 years. American scientists are confident that the only way that will help people save themselves from suicide is psychotherapy.
Psychotherapy in medicine is a method of therapeutic effect on the human psyche (also possible options for health effects through the psyche). The main goal of the therapist is to rid the person of problems and experiences, establish a deep contact with the person and help with the solution of internal conflicts and problems.
To date, there is no single and complete definition of "psychiatry" in medicine. Nevertheless, there are a large number of directions and branches that are classified according to some common characteristics. American experts believe that the help of a qualified psychotherapist is the only way to save a person with suicidal tendencies from trying to commit suicide. Doctors say that medications can not provide such an action as a conversation with a psychotherapist.
Scientists believe that the only way to identify people suffering from suicidal tendencies and thinking about death, as a solution to all problems, does not exist. Doctors advise people to devote more time to sports and physical activities, to communicate with pleasant people. In their view, the rejection of bad habits and the exclusion from the close circle of those demographic groups in which the suicide rate is considered high can help get rid of thoughts of death.
Studying the nature of suicide is not an easy task. For a long time, experts around the world have been trying to determine the dependencies and factors that can influence the appearance of suicidal thoughts. Most experts hold the view that the main cause of suicide at all times has been hard-suffered stress. This theory, of course, is not devoid of common sense, analyzing the events in the life of suicides can determine the causes that led to the death of a person.
The determination of the causes of suicide is carried out in two ways, each of which is not perfect. The first is a detailed study of the life and habits of the deceased person, communication with his friends and relatives, attempts to find out the causes of the perfect deed. The second is a survey of people who have made unsuccessful suicide attempts. Both methods can not give an exact answer: close people may not be aware of emotional experiences, and people who are subjected to questioning after trying to commit suicide are often in a state of stress and memories may not be exactly accurate.
Specialists from the United States urge people to seek help from "mental healers" more often. At the moment this is the only effective way that can help get rid of thoughts of death and suicide.
