A new study found that honesty has not only mental but also tangible physical health benefits. Those who lie less are more healthy than those who are used to lying. Psychologists from the University of Orlando selected 110 participants, who were divided into two groups. Half of them were told to speak for the most part only the truth and avoid lying. The other half did not receive any instructions regarding the lie.

After 10 weeks, the participants were reassembled and interviewed. Thus, it was found that participants who tried not to lie less complained of headaches, tension, anxiety and sore throats, compared with those who lied regularly. So everything fell into place. If people did not lie, their health got much better. And this is a convincing way to strengthen your own health. Previous studies have shown that, on average, people lie 11 times a week, it means both a "white" lie, and an outright heap of lies.

However, the new study was fundamentally different from the others, because its purpose was to study how lies affect the health of people, and what consequences the liar is waiting for. In addition to strengthening physical health, the participants who did not lie told that their personal relationships had improved, and social interaction was more smooth. In order for the study to be as accurate as possible, the participants were checked on the lie detector. Thus, a lie can become a great stress for people, contributing to the development of anxiety and even depression.
