Every person in their life strives to find their soulmate. However, it is not that easy. And very often all searches end in failure. Now it has become known that people with a sense of humor, as well as cheerful and playful people, have a better chance of finding a spouse. Moreover, one of the points when choosing a potential spouse is the ability to play games. A new study shows that demonstrating playfulness is a special strategy chosen when searching for a life partner.
A team of US scientists surveyed 250 students and found that both sexes cited "sense of humour", "fun" and "playfulness" as the most important characteristics when looking for a long-term partner. Playful behaviour may have evolutionary benefits by demonstrating positive qualities such as non-aggressiveness or youth in potential long-term partners.
Just as birds attract with bright plumage or coloring, men can attract women by showing off expensive cars or clothes. A man's play can also be a signal that he is non-aggressive and will not hurt a woman or his offspring. A woman's ability to play also means non-aggressiveness, and also indicates her youth and fertility.
