Experts from Australia have found that fresh fish and other seafood can protect against serious cardiovascular diseases. Substances in shrimp, crabs, and sea fish are considered to be several times more effective than antioxidants found in plant foods. In particular, scientists highlight the bright red pigment astaxanthin, the most powerful antioxidant known to medicine at the moment.
The above pigment was first isolated from fresh lobster meat in the first half of the twentieth century. Later, scientists found out that astaxanthin is also found in shrimp, oysters, sea fish tissues, and even sea plants.
Experts say that eating foods high in astaxanthin can help prevent cardiovascular disease. Of course, as a preventative measure, it is better to eat fresh foods, since deep freezing significantly reduces the beneficial effects of seafood.
Statistics from the World Health Organization show that cardiovascular diseases are the most common cause of premature death in adults. For example, in 2008, more than 15 million people died from cardiovascular diseases, which is almost 30% of the total.
As a non-drug prevention of heart disease, doctors recommend giving up tobacco products, excessive alcohol consumption and fatty foods. Particular attention should be paid to physical activity and a balanced diet.
If we talk about seafood, then today it is one of the most beneficial products for human health, the properties of which have a positive effect not only on the cardiovascular system, but also on the general condition of the body.
Research by Australian scientists has proven that shrimp meat can be used during winter cold epidemics. Australians are sure that shrimp helps maintain a healthy hormonal background and strengthen the immune system, which is necessary during the cold season. Experts also recommend eating shrimp to people who suffer from various food allergies. In their opinion, the substances contained in shrimp can reduce the body's sensitivity to other products.
Nutritionists recommend eating seafood to people who want to lose weight. It is not surprising, sea fish, shrimp, lobsters are rich in proteins and healthy omega acids, food that will diversify any diet and provide the human body with the elements necessary for health. Seafood has regenerative properties, which helps restore tissue and maintain good health even in old age. Substances contained in seafood can prevent not only dangerous cardiovascular diseases, but also slow down the aging process and ensure attentiveness and good memory for a long time.
