They say correctly that laziness is the engine of progress. A young programmer from the USA has recently proved once again that this statement is quite applicable to modern society. The 24-year-old American has developed the so-called “food of the future”, which is capable of providing the human body with all the necessary microelements and vitamins.
Programmer R. Rinehart from the USA (Atlanta) has invented a completely new type of food that will allow you not only to eat right, but also to save significantly on food. People of his profession often suffer from stomach diseases due to the consumption of fast food. In addition, Roy noticed from his own experience that a significant amount of money flows out of his wallet every month on unhealthy food. After analyzing the situation with nutrition both for Roy himself and his colleagues, he decided to develop a unique cocktail to date, which we could only read about in science fiction. The programmer presented the world with a liquid, milkshake-like cocktail, which contains absolutely all the substances necessary for an adult healthy person.
For six weeks, the experimenter consumed only this cocktail, claiming that due to its excellent taste, he did not feel any discomfort or monotony. The perfectly balanced cocktail contains only a third of the daily calorie intake, but has amazing nutritional value.
Roy got the idea for the invention after his elderly friend fell seriously ill. Due to complete exhaustion, the programmer's friend could not cope with cooking on his own, and Roy, as a caring friend, decided to find a way out. Initially, the developer turned to biology textbooks, because the goal was to invent a product that would require a minimum amount of time and resources during preparation and at the same time - maximum nutritional value.
Specialized literature helped Rinehart understand that the human body does not need certain products as a whole, but some of the substances they contain. For example, it cannot be said that a person needs to eat tomatoes, but one can note the undeniable benefits of lycopene contained in them. Also, the human body does not need baked goods, but healthy carbohydrates, not dairy products, but amino acids, not citrus fruits, but vitamin C. The human body is able to absorb, for example, carotene not only in the form of carrots, but also in the form of dry carrot powder.
Speaking of fats, the inventor added unrefined olive oil and fish oil, which is essential for humans, to the cocktail. The carbohydrates in the drink are represented by oligosaccharides, which are considered healthier than conventional sugar and glucose. In addition to the above-mentioned elements, some antioxidants, protein and probiotics were added to the cocktail, which the author called "Soylent".
The programmer considers the main advantage of his discovery to be significant savings: now his monthly diet costs less than a hundred dollars. Roy practically does not use kitchen appliances, does not visit supermarkets, as a result of which he does not spend money on buying food, nor time on the process of preparing lunches and dinners.
Doctors are interested in the discovery of the thrifty American. The invented cocktail is unlikely to interest ordinary people, but on the other hand, it can help solve the problem of food in low-income countries.
