Snoring is an unpleasant and sometimes dangerous thing. In addition, snoring prevents loved ones from resting, because for a full rest a person needs three things - a comfortable bed, a dark, ventilated room and silence, which loved ones of a snoring person are deprived of.
Statistics show that more than 50% of women and 70% of men over 30 years of age snore.
Everyone will agree that it is not easy to fall asleep when you sleep in the same room with a snoring person. What only household members do not do to get a good night's sleep: they push the snorer, and hoot, and plug their ears, and, in the end, give in, defeated, going to sleep in another room.
Of course, snorers cannot be blamed for not allowing you to get a good night's sleep. But, unfortunately, the sex life of many couples suffers from the unbearable sounds of snoring, and some families even break up because of it.
According to doctors, the main cause of snoring is weak muscles of the soft palate. Snoring occurs when air currents, passing through narrowed airways, provoke the soft structures of the pharynx to "beat" against each other.
In addition to the discomfort caused to loved ones, the snorer himself suffers no less, because snoring is the first sign of a serious disease - sleep apnea, that is, breathing stops for a short time during sleep. A person also experiences oxygen starvation - hypoxia, when the relaxed palate blocks the air supply to the lungs. Because of this, the brain wakes up and urgently forces the muscles of the pharynx to tense up, which after a while relax again and everything repeats in a circle.
All this leads to fatigue, inattention and problems in the family. Web2Health will tell you what can be the cause of snoring and how to get rid of this problem.
Excess weight
Obese people most often face the problem of snoring because fatty tissue interferes with the flow of air. With the elimination of excess weight, the problem itself will disappear.

Alcohol and smoking
These two factors can also be the cause of snoring. Nicotine, which affects the larynx, weakens the muscles. Therefore, if you value your health, quit smoking, and if you drink alcohol, at least do it two hours before bedtime.
Respiratory diseases and allergies
A stuffy nose can be the cause of snoring, so it is better to use nasal sprays to eliminate the cause of snoring, which in this case is a runny nose.
Sleep on your side?
If you have a loved one who snores, you probably tried to change their position and turn them from their back to their side to stop snoring. However, this is not a method to combat this ailment. Sleeping on the back is the most favorable position for a snoring person, in which the entire body of a person relaxes. In any case, excess weight and poor physical condition are the enemies that must be fought.
Dry air
Be sure to ventilate the room before going to bed, because dry air can be one of the causes of snoring.
Traditional medicine
Traditional healers recommend the following recipe to get rid of snoring - stir a spoonful of honey in a glass of cabbage juice and drink before bed. But before doing this, it is better to consult a doctor, because any self-medication is dangerous.
