A vaccine against influenza and other colds in the form of a spray for oral use can put an end to the era of routine vaccinations.
Experts have found a way to destroy microbes of respiratory viral infections at the initial stage, and the new remedy surpasses traditional injections in efficiency, destroying microbes of viruses already in airspace.
For people who are especially afraid of syringes and needles, an oral spray will be an excellent alternative and a reliable protection against viral infections of the respiratory tract.
Scientists from the Center for Clinical Medical Research presented their results at a conference on antimicrobials and chemotherapy (ICAAC), which was held in San Francisco.
Experts confirmed the effectiveness of the new spray-anesthetic "Halo Oral Antiseptic", which can deal with influenza and other acute respiratory viral infections in 99.9% of cases. Now the antiviral drug is already on sale and is available to customers.
"Respiratory infections are one of the main causes of morbidity and mortality worldwide," says Dr. Frank Esper. - So far, no progress has been observed in the search for new methods of fighting respiratory viral infections. The spray "Halo" is unique in that the radius of its action is much higher than similar drugs. It can provide protection against germs of influenza and rhinoviruses even in the air. "
The drug is an oral antiseptic and is sprayed directly into the mouth. Its action lasts about six hours from the moment of application.
Dr. Esper believes that the drug "Halo" has a number of obvious advantages. It is able to lower the incidence threshold and be an effective means to combat the spreading epidemic.
As a preventive measure, the spray is suitable for people with an increased risk of post-cold complications, people with immune deficiency and chronic lung diseases.
Pathogenic microorganisms causing colds, often fall on the mucous membrane of the mouth, provoking the disease. Oral spray "Halo" will meet them right on the "threshold" of penetration into the body, and will not resist them directly there.
In addition, the protective antiseptic action of the spray continues even during meals.
"Unlike drugs that support the immune system and protect against microbes directly on the surface of the body, the spray-antiseptic" Halo "is the only drug that can protect against pathogens already in the air.
