Scientists from the British University reported that the risks of developing malignant tumors are growing every year. Research shows that if a few years ago the probability of getting cancer was estimated at 44 out of 100, then by 2028, that is, in just fifteen years, the chances of getting cancer will grow to 50 cases out of 100. The data shows that the probability of being affected by cancer will grow to 50%, which can significantly reduce the life expectancy of the planet's population.
Age is the main component of statistics: doctors are sure that it is high life expectancy that is the factor that determines the possibility of developing a cancerous tumor. In developed countries, people live longer, and old age increases the chance of getting cancer. Scientists believe that the data obtained will double the interest in the future: an increase in human life expectancy is an undoubted plus, but on the other hand, more people will be diagnosed with age-related diseases. Cancer diagnostics and treatment methods are constantly being developed and improved, accordingly, along with an increase in the number of patients, doctors predict an increase in the chances of recovery and a favorable outcome of drug treatment.
Research shows that in the next 10-15 years, the number of diseases such as prostate cancer and bowel cancer will increase. If we talk about prostate cancer, then every year the number of patients who suffer from this type of cancer is growing. Most patients are elderly men. Doctors noted that with an increase in human life expectancy, the number of patients with prostate cancer will increase. Over the past 30 years, the number of patients in Britain has tripled, despite the fact that effective treatment has not yet been approved. Scientists from the University of Florida (USA) are working on a study of a special enzyme that can stimulate the development of prostate cancer. Perhaps, during experiments on the newly invented substance, doctors will be able to discover a new drug that can fight cancer cells. As for bowel cancer, at the moment, research and diagnosis of the disease have advanced quite far, and scientists are confident that in the near future a technique will be developed that will significantly reduce mortality rates. Flexible rectoscopy, according to experts, is a method that helps detect cancer at an early stage, which makes the job of doctors easier and helps to determine the right treatment for a particular patient at an early stage. Over the past 10 years, deaths from bowel cancer have decreased by 30%, which has significantly affected the overall mortality picture in Britain.
Research data has shown that male mortality from cancer exceeds female mortality by almost 35%. In particular, men die from liver cancer twice as often as women, which may be due to lifestyle and bad habits.
