Such a statement was made by the free-lance therapist of the Ministry of Health Vasily Netyazhenko at a brief press conference, which was devoted to the continuation of the program on state regulation of the cost of hypertensive drugs.
This year, the Council adopted a resolution according to which in 2014 hypertensive patients will be able to continue participating in the program to partially compensate for the cost of medicines.
According to V. Netyazhenko, the council adopted this decision on the grounds that similar projects have shown good efficiency in the past. Thanks to the program, only in 2013 the percentage of patients with hypertension for help from specialists increased by 75%, of which 44% received drugs to reduce blood pressure for three months. Before the introduction of the project, such treatment received only 15% of hypertensive patients. In addition, since the introduction of the program, there has been a 17% decrease in the number of physicians' calls to the home for hypertensive crisis, in addition, the number of strokes among patients receiving treatment has decreased by approximately 6%.
In general, in 2013 the project covered almost 7 million people. The number of issued recipes for the compensation of the cost of drugs - more than 20 million, of which 8 million prescriptions were partially reimbursed the cost of drugs. The program involved more than 12 thousand pharmacies.
Also the main freelance therapist of the Ministry of Health noted that this year it was allocated about 140 million UAH. From the budget, which are already distributed by region, and any patient with hypertensive illness will be able to contact their doctor and get a partial reimbursement of the cost of necessary drugs.
He also recalled that three degrees of partial compensation for the cost of drugs for hypertensive patients were established:
- 1 - compensation of 90% of the cost;
- 2 - compensation of 60-80% of the cost;
- 3 - medicines that are not compensable.
Compensation is also provided for some foreign generic drugs (amlodipine, lisinopril, enalapril, bisoprolol, vibrosolol, metprorol, nifedipine and some combination drugs).
In addition, special attention was paid to the prevention of hypertension among the population, which should be carried out by representatives of the media.
To prevent a massive and insidious disease, it is worthwhile to lead a healthy lifestyle, abandon bad habits, adhere to a healthy diet (first of all, reduce salt intake, give preference to organic products). In this case, among patients, it is possible to reduce the complications of hypertension by 30%, and in taking medications - by 28%.
It should be recalled that 2012 in Ukraine to reduce the development of hypertension, ischemic disease, strokes, as well as the level of mortality from complications, improving the quality of life of patients with cardiovascular diseases, as well as increasing access to medicines due to lower prices, the introduction of state regulation of the prices of therapeutic drugs for hypertensive patients.
In early 2014, more than 12 million hypertensive patients were recorded. Hypertension leads to severe complications, such as stroke, myocardial infarction.
