Cultural beliefs and modern views on life interfere with the normal development of the brain and impede the healthy emotional development of the child, this conclusion was drawn by scientists from the University of Notre Dame.
Scientists believe that the quality of life of young people has worsened, especially compared to how the children were brought up fifty years ago.
"Breastfeeding babies, reacting to their crying and almost constant contact with several adults are one of the foundations of the methods of upbringing that positively influence the developing brain of the child and not only form the personality, but also contribute to physical health and moral development," says Dr. Darcia Narvaez , the lead author of the study. - Unfortunately, modern methods of upbringing are a separate room for a baby, the use of infant formulas almost from birth, and the conviction that an instantaneous reaction to a child's crying will only "spoil" it, because young moms do not rush to calm the baby, in order not to dilute him too much their attention. "
Studies show that the maternal "response" to the crying of the child affects the development of moral principles in the baby, the touch of the mother helps to develop stress-reactivity, control emotions and empathy; games in nature affect the social potential and the level of aggression.

Modern kids spend much more time in wheelchairs, more and more moms go on artificial feeding and only fifteen percent of mothers breast-feed the baby for twelve months. Most mothers and dads devote little time to socializing with children and playing games with them compared to the 70s of the last century.
As a result, modern methods of upbringing lead to the fact that the level of aggressiveness, even in small children, is increased, they are prone to anxious states and coping worse with stressful situations. Among young children there are many offenders. In addition, modern children are less well-bred in terms of moral standards, and the feeling of empathy and compassion they developed to a lesser extent.
But apart from parents, teachers and relatives can have a positive impact on the child.
"The right brain, which is responsible for human creativity and empathy, can grow throughout life. Therefore, it is never too late for parents to develop their child's creative potential, "the researchers say.
