Surely most of the hostesses are firmly confident that their kitchen is sterile clean. Most likely, apparently so it is, but the hidden threats that lurk in the kitchen can harm the health of the whole family.
The British health portal conducted a survey among 400 readers and 100 professional chefs to find out how the technology of cooking meets the sanitary and hygienic requirements.
Vegetables and fruits are fraught with danger
68% of readers and 71% of professional cooks believe that the most risky and dangerous food for health is raw poultry meat, which carries an increased threat of infection with intestinal infections and entry into the body of parasites. Nevertheless, not many saw the danger in eating fruits and vegetables, but in fact, it is no less dangerous food, if you cut them, not previously washed well.
Kitchen Thermometers
Only 29% of respondents reported that they sometimes use a thermometer to find out if the meat was sufficiently fried, determining its cooking stage. In fact, this device is not so useless, as many believe, because it makes it easy to understand whether it was possible to kill all potentially dangerous bacteria.
To destroy harmful bacteria, it is recommended to treat the products as follows:
Clean kitchen sponges
Infect with serious infectious diseases? Easily! But the most shocking thing is that the source of the threat is the usual kitchen sponge, which we use daily for washing dishes. Experts advise to change sponges and kitchen rags more often, instead of using them to holes.
Cutting boards
Cutting boards in the kitchen should be at least two - one for cutting meat, and the second for cutting vegetables. If all manipulations with meat and other products are done on the same board, the possibility of cross-contamination of products is not excluded.
Cleanliness in the fridge
Refrigerator - the subject of household appliances, without which it is difficult to imagine the life of modern man. This device is irreplaceable, therefore it is absolutely necessary to maintain it in its proper condition. To save the health of the whole family, you need to regularly clean the refrigerator and clean all departments.
First unceremoniously examine the products, the expiration date of which has already expired, but even if the date indicated on the package still allows you to use the product, but it does not cause trust, then the garbage bucket cries for such products. After the product revision, you need to rinse all the shelves and drawers of the refrigerator with hot water and soap, and then wipe dry.

Wash hands
After you have finished cooking, washed the dishes or washed the refrigerator, be sure to wash your hands. According to the survey, only half of the respondents do not forget about hand hygiene after doing work in the kitchen. It does not matter that you are at home, and not returned from the street. Hands must be washed, because the microbes perfectly coexist between the fingers and very easily get into the mouth.
