Many people gladly start a new day with a cup of fragrant coffee and sandwiches with cheese. And few could even imagine that cheese would be called a dangerous product.

Scientists said that cheese is dangerous to health

Despite the fact that it causes surprise and even mistrust, experts warn that the level of salt in the cheese is not worried about them, because it can contribute to the epidemic of high blood pressure. Its increase threatens with heart attacks, strokes and as a result of thousands of premature deaths every year.

Scientists from the London-based Wolfson Institute found that in cheddar cheese, salt is contained more than in a package of potato chips, and the amount of salt in feta cheese and halloumi is higher than the amount of salt contained in sea water.

"Cheese products are saturated with fats. However, if you know the measure and do not abuse it, then human health is not threatened. But when salt is added to the fats, this is already becoming unsafe. This jeopardizes the health of people whose daily diet includes cheese, "said Professor and co-author Graham McGregor.

Experts say that a day a person is not recommended to eat more than six grams of salt. Therefore, the maximum amount of cheese that can be consumed per day, you need to measure based on the amount of salt included in its composition, that is, the more salt, the less cheese you must eat.

In particular, some types of cheese contain such an amount of salt: 1 gram in rockfore, 0, 81 grams in halloumi, and 0.76 grams in feta cheese. For comparison, in 30 milliliters of sea water contains 0.75 grams of salt. It turns out that these cheeses by salt level surpassed even the salt water. These findings were made by experts based on a review of a hundred supermarkets and the analysis of several types of cheese.

Naturally, children are not especially not worth giving a large amount of cheese, or carefully review the label and choose varieties, where the salt is least. Experts do not recommend cheese from cheese.
