If you think that the most terrible food is hamburgers and French fries, then most likely you have never heard of the dishes with which we will now introduce you, and most importantly - did not see or inhale their hideous scent. If curiosity still takes precedence over disgust, then let me introduce to you the most terrible dishes in the world.
Escamoles
Still this dish has the name "ant caviar". Probably, you can guess that with appetizing black and red caviar this meal has nothing in common. So, make this delicacy from a certain kind of ants living in the roots of the agave, or rather their larvae. Large ant larvae are sometimes sold together with ants and you can buy them even when frozen. Savor the escamoles and raw, and stewed. The taste of this delicacy remotely resembles the taste of nuts.
Lutefisk
Well, very clean dish. And clean because it is soaked in alkaline solution. So the Norwegians like to pamper themselves. The raw dried fish is soaked for a few days in an alkaline solution, and then a day or two it is soaked in plain water, which leads to the fact that the dish, which managed to become national, acquires a soft consistency and translucent appearance, and looks like jelly. By the way, you can enjoy the agony of an American grief who decided to try the strength of his stomach with a traditional Christmas dish of Scandinavians.
Surpresting
This yummy was invented by the Swedes, probably to compete with the Norwegians in preparing the most disgusting dish in the world. A herring with caviar is placed in a bowl with brine (concentrated saline solution) and then transferred to a less saline solution and left to sour about a month for two. During this process, acetic, oily and propionic acids and hydrogen sulphide are formed. Just the latter and gives the dish a unique flavor, and when you open the jar it seems that the fish died its own death.
Kumiss
Koumiss is not a dish, but a drink, but it can become a worthy competitor in the struggle for the title of the most-most. Koumiss is a dairy product made from fermented milk of the mare and contains some alcohol. He is loved to savor in Central Asia. The process of cooking koumiss is the fermentation of milk for several hours or days. At the outlet, this product has an unpleasant odor and is a milky-alcoholic substance.
Century Eggs
The name is chosen right in the bull's-eye, because the look of eggs is exactly such thoughts about the terms of their storage and casts (and maybe even more). Despite the fact that the figure numbers one hundred, this dish is prepared for several months in a mixture of salt, lime and clay, which has a strong alkaline reaction. And now, the product is ready - the protein becomes like rubber, and the yolk on a creamy mass. In addition, the color of a century-old egg does not at all resemble the ordinary egg - it darkens and becomes saturated with wonderful rotten aromas.

The human placenta
This so-called dish, can not but cause disgust, odately, it still eats. It is believed that the placenta helps to cope with postpartum depression and other postpartum complications. The most terrible thing is that there are many recipes for the preparation of the placenta, even cocktails are made from it. Before Ukraine this fashion trend has not yet reached, but here in Mexico, China, Hawaii and the Pacific islands it is very common.
Fresh Blood Soup
This delicacy is prepared from fresh blood of geese, ducks or pigs. Add flavored herbs there. Just lick your fingers. They love such soups in North Vietnam, where they are drunk with their alcoholic beverages. Well, it's not surprising, without a glass to such a delicacy and come scary. The taste of this dish has a metallic taste.
Spores of the fungus blistered corn smut
This dish, which is very popular in Mexico, is a fungus infested with maize. Spores of the fungus affect healthy cobs and white outgrowths are formed, inside of which are powder-like spores-heads. Corn thus acquires a mushroom flavor and is an extraordinary delicacy.
Natto
And Japanese people like this yummy. Fermented soybeans - this is what is hidden under the name "natto". The dish is prepared by adding a hay stick, which starts the fermentation process. A day of fermentation and eating are served: fermented beans resemble a slimy, sticky mass with the aroma of ammonia. They taste bitter-salty. Well, just a perfect snack for beer!
Casu Marzu
Do you like cheese? And how do you like the live cheese? This sheep cheese from Sardinia resembles a living thing, because in it, for the fermentation, live larvae of flies are added, which are left even after the cooking process is over. Surprisingly, despite the fact that this strange and disgusting product causes bloody diarrhea (larvae of flies are sometimes not digested), it is still loved and praised for its taste qualities.
