Nurses and other health professionals, especially those who are on duty at night, often suffer from muscle pain, especially in the neck.

stresses for health workers

" Conflicts in the families of medical workers can distract them from work and provoke stress," said lead author of the research, Dr. Sung Su Kim. "If the hospital management, where there is an employee with similar problems, takes measures to eliminate them or tries to somehow help, this can increase the productivity of the person and will only be an advantage for the hospital."

In addition, according to experts, an unfavorable atmosphere in the family can cause chronic muscle pain.

This study once again confirms the fact that overtime and overly laborious work schedule can cause discord in the family and reduce the productivity of a person. In particular, for hospital staff, this may result in inattention to patients and inadequate care for a sick person.

According to other studies, difficult relationships in the home can lead to depression, alcohol and drug abuse, and also to provoke cardiovascular diseases.

But can home problems in total with stress at work be a cause of physical pain?

A team of scientists led by Dr. Kim tried to find out by conducting a survey of two thousand employees of medical institutions whose duties included direct care of patients.

Specialists invited participants to complete the questionnaires.

Also, specialists took into account extraneous factors that can provoke muscle pain.

It was found that nurses and other health workers who reported employment at work and lack of time for full-time pastime with the family, are about twice as likely to earn muscle pain in the neck or shoulder in the next three months.

Very often medical workers, and especially nurses, work on a night shift or, which is not uncommon, work out at once two. As research results show, job duties and household chores, which sometimes depress people, can cause chronic muscle pain, as well as provoke other health problems.

The consequences of such a race for the performance of all the duties imposed on a person can be quite serious, and this applies not only to health workers, but to the entire society as a whole.
