If during the whole day a person had to endure any very tense and important events, in general, gets stressed, then at night he will most likely see dreams full of a wide variety of nightmares. In other words, nightmares are a kind of tool that can remove the frustration that has occurred to a person during wakefulness.

This is what is the main cause of nightmarish dreams after you watch movies, the story of which is full of hard-hitting pictures, horrors, scenes of violence and other negative content. Thus, it is possible to assert with full confidence that a person is capable of attracting nightmares to himself.

Quite a frequent phenomenon is a nightmarish dream that visits those people who suffer from some kind of disease (often inflammatory processes in the body) flowing with a high body temperature. In addition, if you are taking medications related to a particular group of them, it can also provoke the appearance of terrible stories in your dreams. If you experience such "side effects" of medications you need, first of all, you should inform your doctor about this, who prescribed a course of treatment for you.

So, first, let's find out why a person needs to sleep at all? The first person who made an attempt to answer this never-lost question at all times was the ancient Greek philosopher and thinker Aristotle. He believed that when a person completely falls asleep, he gets a truly unique opportunity to see his future.

At the very beginning of the last century, the theory was widely spread, which consisted in the following: at a time when a person is awake, in his body, chemical compounds that are likely to poison him are concentrated. And when a person sleeps, these substances get into the blood and dissolve in it, after which they are safely withdrawn from the body together with the products of vital activity.

Today, experts argue that none of the earlier theories that existed before, can not be regarded as the only correct one. It should also be noted that as of today, the most likely theory of such phenomena as sleep in general and dreams in particular is recognized. It consists in the fact that sleep is such a length of time that is required for the body, and to be precise, for the brain, in order to carry out the process of the so-called "information reset". In other words, sleep is a kind of "liberator" of the brain, in the process of which the accumulated information "rubbish" is eliminated and important events, facts and information are remembered. Thanks to this, preparations are made to begin to receive new information data from the next morning.
