Parents know firsthand how hard it is for kids to withstand heat. How can you make life easier for them? Councils are simple, but effective enough. The first rule, which must be adhered to every mother, is not to go out with the baby in the heat. Your time is before 11:00 and after 17:00.
When the body overheats, the following symptoms appear: - general weakness, weakness, headache, dizziness, tinnitus, drowsiness, thirst, nausea, redness of the skin, rapid pulse and breathing, increased body temperature.
If, during overheating, there is a child's inhibition, agitation, a disturbance of consciousness, sometimes convulsions appear - this indicates that there is a threat to life. In infants, dyspeptic disorders (vomiting, diarrhea) become more frequent, the body temperature rises sharply, facial features become aggravated, the general condition deteriorates rapidly. If such a child (and in severe cases an adult) does not provide timely emergency care - cramps, coma and death may occur.
Adhere to this mode of feeding: from 10:00 to 18:00 - more liquid (compotes, teas, sour milk drinks), and meat, vegetables and cereal - the rest of the time. If you notice signs of overheating in the child - immediately undress it, wipe it off with a damp towel, let it drink fluids, and then make it the towel "breeze".
Arrange preventive water procedures. The smallest 4-5 times a day wipe. To do this, put a soft terry towel into the water (32-35 degrees), wring out and rub the handles, legs, tummy and back.
If the room is stuffy and there is no ionizer, moisten the air with an atomizer and put on the high cabinets basins with cold water or hang wet towels around the bed.
The problem of summer time for babies are diaper rash. To avoid them, leave your baby naked, often without a diaper or in cotton panties.
Drink liquid every half hour. Very often children overheat because they do not forget to wear a panama, but forget to regularly drink water.
Than to give a child in such heat? Carbonated water, pure water, tea, juice? If a child weighing 25 kg usually drinks up to one and a half liters of liquid per day, then during the heat his body may need twice or even three times as much. And the question of the quality of the liquid becomes paramount. After a mistake in the choice can lead to the accumulation in the body of the child of substances that are unnecessary to him.
Choose water
Water from the tap in our time, thirst for children is satisfied only by extremals ... Note, with respect to the concept of "out of the tap" is also water from the well of the grandmother. Stories that this water is clean is nothing more than a myth!
We will choose water for the child in the store. Sweet soda can be allowed to the child as an exception, but not as a drink that quenches thirst. Need a justification? Please: orthophosphoric acid, which is contained in sweet carbonated drinks, spoils children's teeth, flushes calcium from the growing body. That is, it deprives the body of building material. And sweeteners, flavors, dyes, stabilizers - a direct way to an allergy.
Carbonated mineral water. You can not drink it - it is very aggressive throughout the gastrointestinal tract, and the child can cause sudden colic. But you need to buy. For the simple reason that gas kills germs in water and the risk of catching any infection is reduced. Release the gas from the water before offering it to the child: leave a glass of water on the table for 15-20 minutes. Mineral water saturated with mineral salts, heavily burdens the kidneys and drink this water only if prescribed by the doctor. Children of the first year of life should not be given mineral water (even without gas)!
Ideal option - dining children's water. Not mineral, but a dining room!
Ice tea is an ideal drink for hikes and picnics. He not only quenches his thirst, but also tones well. But it is necessary to limit the use of tea in the afternoon, otherwise the child will not sleep well.
And remember that for children special teas have long been made, without a tea leaf. They include very useful for the child herbs, berries, fruits. So, tea with a dogrose will provide an additional portion of vitamin C, and a cold drink with apples and mint will calm the fidget a little: mint has a mild soothing effect. But in children under 2 years of age, tea is prevented by absorption of iron.
"Kings" among drinks, of course, fresh juices, fruit drinks, compotes. To quench your thirst, juices and compotes of cherry, plum and cornel are best. But do not add a lot of sugar in them.
First aid for overheating should be timely. Urgently transfer the child to the shade, then undress it, put a cool wet cloth on your head and wipe the body with a towel soaked in cool water. Surely the mother who went with the child to rest, there are antipyretic drugs in the medicine cabinet in candles, which must be immediately introduced. When the child comes to himself, give him a cool drink, in which to add a glass of liquid to a pinch of salt. It is necessary to call a doctor.
