Today, young girls are burdened with significantly more extra pounds than their peers 30-40 years ago. This is due to the fact that they are only 17 minutes a day.

As scientists from the University of Newcastle found out, modern girls spend on various physical activities no more than 17 minutes a day. In boys, this indicator is slightly higher - 24 minutes a day. And it's not about attending a gym or doing physical exercises, but about walking, cycling, active games, etc.

Meanwhile, the minimum recommended amount of time that adolescents should spend on physical activities is one hour a day. Experts believe that these recommendations in modern conditions are unrealistic. Today the life of the growing generation is not in walks, but in social networks, which requires a computer or a smartphone.

Children lead a sedentary lifestyle, and this causes serious concerns about the health of the entire generation. After all, it's not just the extra kilograms that are formed as a result of this attitude toward oneself. Obesity breeds eating disorders and severe depression, adolescents suffer from a discrepancy with imposed standards of beauty. This is especially true for girls who are instilled from the TV screens from childhood, that their success in life depends solely on sexuality.

In addition, overweight is the cause of diabetes and many other chronic diseases. British scientists provided a dry statistics, but did not say anything about how to fix this situation. Perhaps in schools it is necessary to increase the number of physical education lessons, and parents should teach children to active rest from an early age. It's almost impossible to change the habits of a teenage rebel.
