Doctors are now advised to ask patients not how much they weigh or smoke cigarettes a day, but how physically active they are. Because this factor is much more important for life and health than other symptoms. The lack of physical activity harms a person's health much more than smoking, obesity or diabetes. Therefore, doctors actively urge their patients to walk more than 30 minutes per day. A group of scientists from Canada, America and Australia believe that a lack of physical activity leads to cases of fatal cancers and heart disease.
Nevertheless, activity can prevent hip fractures and there is evidence that it stops senile dementia. Professors from the University of British Columbia argue that a high level of physical activity is the most important factor affecting human health. This is much more important than the blood pressure or the number of breaths a minute. In the US, more and more people die as a result of reduced physical activity, rather than from smoking, obesity and diabetes. And it's not about weight, but movement.
Physical activity affects all systems and organs of the human body. If the body lacks sufficient energy, then it develops a number of diseases. And this does not mean that you need to play sports like an Olympic champion. Quite enough and 2.5 hours of active walking. But the more, the better. A low level of physical fitness is a better predictor of mortality than obesity and hypertension. Therefore, experts recommend to engage in mass agitation of fitness and exercise.
