Scientists have found this kind of biological explanation. It turns out that reason refuses to ladies during the period of ovulation. Probably, the hormonal changes that occur in the body at the last stages of egg maturation make women less choosy in choosing a father for their child. At the same time, their perception of men, unreliable in terms of family values, changed to the exact opposite. Researchers from the University of Texas at San Antonio (USA) showed women who are at different stages of the menstrual cycle a photo of men: some showed obvious playboys ("bad guys"), others showed the type of reliable head of the family. Women were asked to say whether, in their opinion, these men would be caring fathers, whether they would help in the kitchen, change diapers, etc. And the estimates of unreliable playboy adventurers grew dramatically as soon as women began ovulation.
The same thing happened when replacing the photo with live actors: they depicted different male types, and women evaluated their suitability for the role of the father of the family. However, the researchers note in the Journal of Personality and Social Psychology one curious nuance. Women quite sensibly pointed to the shortcomings of unreliable men and their inability to build long-term relationships - but only if they did not mean themselves. That is, ovulation does not prevent women from discouraging a friend from an unreasonable step. But as soon as they represented themselves alongside the windy handsome man himself, how the ability to reason reasonably refused at all.
In the period of the menstrual cycle, when the probability of becoming pregnant is above all, the hormonal background makes one neglect the long-term planning of relationships and quickly realize the chance to continue the genus. The changes in psychology are quite curious, and, I think, there are other aspects of the personality that are changing at this time under the influence of hormones.
