According to statistics, motion sickness in transport is the most common problem that arises when planning a summer holiday. However, users of various Internet resources found a way out: everyone picked up their own means of motion sickness, and some of these tools can be useful for other people. We suggest you familiarize yourself with the most popular of them.
- Slice of lemon.
"I remember how my nanny, who in life prefers to use only natural remedies, before the trip cut a half of lemon and put it in a plastic bag," says Stephanie Campana. "For every case of approaching nausea, she opened the sachet and inhaled the lemon flavor. It's wonderful, but this method really helped! Now I often use such a tool. "
- Ginger or peppermint oil.
"I use a couple drops of ginger or mint oil on a cotton pad. I place the cotton in a bag, and at the first signs of discomfort I open it and breathe in an oil scent, - the user Norma F. Villasenor shares her experience.
- Ginger oil or ginger in sugar.
"Swaying has haunted me all the time, from childhood. And now my children are experiencing the same problems. In a similar situation, I use ginger - better candied - you can just hold it in your mouth, gradually dissolving, - says Mary Uzel. "If there is ginger oil at hand, it can moisten the inner surfaces of the ear lobes or the inner sides of the wrists - you will almost instantly feel relief."
- Napkins with alcohol.
"The smell of medical alcohol helps me," Kimberly Schnell asserts. "The glove compartment of my car always has alcohol wipes that I buy at the pharmacy."
- Gadgets.
"I have two children and they are constantly uncomfortable during crossings," says Ashley K. Talek. "When they begin to rock, I suggest that they play with the phone or watch a cartoon on the iPad. This helps them to concentrate, and they forget about unpleasant feelings. " Indeed, many people pay attention to the fact that listening to music in headphones or watching a movie on a tablet helps to distract and get rid of motion sickness.
- Breath of fresh air.
"I'm only caked in a stuffy bus or a crowded public transport. To alleviate the condition, it is often enough for me to open the window and inhale some fresh air, "explains Katya B. Fernandez.
- Coca Cola.
"For me, a can of cold Coca-Cola is a salvation. And not light, and not Pepsi, namely Coca-Cola - I do not know why. This drink has been saving me for almost fifty years, "says Susanne P. Kerr.
In addition to these funds, I want to draw attention to another method, invented by a farmer from England Tim Flaxman. He once noticed that the nausea in the transport passes, if you cover one eye. It turns out that this really helps to "deceive" and stabilize the vestibular apparatus. Now Tim uses for travel special glasses, in which one of the lenses is opaque. The idea was supported by one of the British companies, which plans to launch such points in the near future in mass production.
