The study of Harvard scientific experts, which lasted more than ten years, made it possible to find a close relationship between the lack of excess weight and the consumption of wine.

American scientists have pleased many an interesting discovery: the periodic use of red wine in small quantities at night helps prevent the development of obesity. This conclusion was drawn from the results of two independent experiments.

The first experiment lasted about 13 years, during which experts evaluated the parameters, lifestyle and health of twenty thousand female members. The emphasis was put on such issues: the presence and absence of excess weight, the use of alcoholic beverages and the degree of physical activity. The result of the experiment was as follows: women who had normal weight and used moderate amounts of red wine in the evenings, and subsequently maintained their normal weight. What can not be said about those who refused to drink alcohol at all.

The second experiment was carried out by scientists on female rodents. The group of animals was regularly offered to eat one of the main components, which is part of the red wine - resveratrol. Rodents who ate this substance did not gain excess weight, or even lost it.

Resveratrol is a natural variety of phenolic compounds. Its main action is antioxidant, that is, it protects cells and organs from external damaging factors. This substance, except red wine, can be contained in the skin of dark grapes, in some nuts and cocoa beans. After a person drinks a little red wine, resveratrol activates the production in the body of "brown" lipocytes. Their difference from conventional lipocytes is that the "brown" cells contribute to the active burning of the fat layer and, as a consequence, the preservation of harmony.

A little earlier, scientists have already conducted research on the properties of resveratrol. Then they managed to find out that this substance has an anti-cancer, anti-inflammatory, protective property that improves the work of the heart and nerve fibers.

Of course, one can not take the results of this scientific discovery literally. Firstly, not all and not any alcoholic drinks contribute to weight loss. Vo-the second, to use wine it is necessary moderately, but not to abuse it. And, thirdly, it is also important what kind of food the person receives: after all, the excess of sweets and fatty foods, regular overeating and lack of physical activity will necessarily lead to excess weight, even despite the occasional use of a small amount of useful red wine.

Therefore, everything must be approached in a balanced and deliberate manner, observing moderation and maintaining common sense. Wine is best consumed in no more than one glass, in the afternoon. It is also important to pay attention to the quality of the drink, giving preference to the known brands of dry or semi-dry wines, since not all wines are equally useful.
