Age changes in our body, unfortunately, are inevitable, but, according to scientists, dementia does not develop in everyone, in addition, this disease can be prevented. At the Bloomberg School, a team of researchers concluded that mental training helps support the brain and prevent memory problems and thinking in old age.

The simplest way to train the brain is to play chess, solve puzzles, while, according to scientists, it is not necessary to look for a partner, you can use a computer. This approach allows to reduce the likelihood of developing senile dementia, avoid memory problems, and also prevent other disorders in the brain that are observed with age.

Bloomberg school staff came to such conclusions, during the research they used a computerized program for learning the brain, which helped reduce the risks of developing senile dementia. Scientists are sure that games in which one needs to think, help if not to prevent, significantly slow down the development of Alzheimer's, as well as other types of cognitive impairment in the elderly.

If the preliminary results are confirmed in subsequent work, computer games for the development of intelligence can replace the current therapy to treat age-related changes in the brain. Also, scientists noted that such games raise the mood and reduce the risk of developing depressive disorders.

It should be noted that the brain is still an insufficiently studied organ of our body, it hides more secrets, however, scientists have repeatedly talked about the benefits of games and exercises that train the brain, improve memory, develop intelligence, etc. If you are engaged in the development of your brain from a young age, then in a more mature age you can avoid a number of problems, including the development of such serious diseases as Alzheimer's.

In Britain, at the beginning of the year, a team of scientists found out what to do in order to prevent the development of senile dementia and preserve the normal brain performance for a long time. First and foremost, we are talking about a healthy lifestyle and the government of Britain even issued recommendations that help reduce the risk of developing dementia by 60%.

In the opinion of the academic group, in order to keep the "clear head" one should be physically active, undergo regular preventive examinations, quit smoking and alcohol, eat right (control your weight) and provide your brain with intellectual loads (read, learn something new, study new business, etc.).

The government decided to issue recommendations to the population after about half of the respondents said in a single poll that there can not be prevention of senile dementia. But still in the course of scientific research, scientists were able to prove that a healthy lifestyle largely influences the work of the brain in old age. Also, scientists noted that the average life expectancy on the planet is increasing, which means that more and more people will be affected by senile dementia.
