According to statistics, at the moment there are more than 6.9 billion people on Earth, and this year the world's population will reach 7 billion.

For decades, the number of people on the planet Earth has remained approximately the same. The earth was inhabited by no more than 10 million hunters and gatherers. After the man learned the basics of agriculture, the population began to grow slowly and confidently. In the 18th century, there was an agricultural revolution, and in the 19th century - an industrial revolution. The amount of food and other necessities for life increased, and people began to multiply even more willingly. By 1800 there were already about 1 billion people on the planet.

In the 20 th century, scientists made a number of stunning discoveries in the field of medicine, which, along with improving the process of food production, reduced the mortality rate, further increasing the population. After 1945, the population grew uncontrollable: the number of people doubled every few decades. Humanity entered the 20th century with 1.6 billion people, and entered the next century with an army of 6.1 billion.

The level of population growth has reached its peak in the last decades of the last century, and now the level of fertility has seen a reverse trend. Nevertheless, the number of people on Earth will be steadily, albeit more slowly, growing throughout the 21st century. By the end of the century, we will be about 10 billion.
