Researchers from France reported that women should stop wearing bras, as this item of clothing was previously overrated, and in fact, it does more harm to the body than good. Moreover, employees of the University of Besancon claim that it is the upper part of women's underwear that causes the breasts to lose their elasticity and shape prematurely.
For fifteen years, French scientists have been studying problems associated with the female breast: breast development, the effect of underwear on health, and the appearance of the bust. More than 130 women took part in the study, who voluntarily agreed to help scientists study the issue. For 15 years, specialists observed changes in the bust of each of the experiment participants using logarithmic rulers and calipers.
Experts from the University of Besançon are confident that women's breasts do not receive any visible benefits from regular use of a bra. The experiment showed that there may be a reverse effect: bras, whose purpose is to support the breasts and provide a beautiful shape, contribute to the fact that the breasts sag at a fairly early age. Scientists also reported that from both anatomical and physical points of view, the upper part of underwear does not benefit women's breasts.
The results of the study showed that women who preferred to do without daily use of a bra felt much better and could boast of beautiful and firm breasts.
For a long time, women believed that a bra was a miraculous wardrobe item that helps keep breasts in shape, prevents sagging, relieves back pain, and helps to maintain proper posture. Despite popular belief, a recent study has shown that women who care about their health and appearance are better off giving up bras altogether.
In addition to the fact that underwear, or more precisely, just a bra, negatively affects the appearance of a woman's breasts, researchers have noticed that this wardrobe item can cause constant back pain. Incorrectly selected underwear squeezes the chest, which slows down natural blood circulation and causes a dull pain in the upper spine. In addition to noticeable discomfort, impaired blood circulation can lead to chronic diseases that will be difficult to get rid of later.
Some of the participants in the experiment who consciously refused to wear a bra agreed with the scientists' statements after a year or two. They noted several benefits caused by giving up underwear: firstly, after six months of living without a bra, many women experienced improved blood circulation, and constant back and neck pain disappeared. Several of the study participants reported that it became much easier for them to breathe. The French scientists, however, reported that such an effect may not be noticeable in women over 45 years old.
