To optimize concentration, memorization processes and inference abilities, scientists recommend solving crosswords more often.
Scientists from Great Britain conducted a large-scale experiment, the results of which yielded the following interesting information: systematically solving all kinds of puzzles, brain teasers, scanwords and crosswords allows you to slow down the processes of age-related changes in the brain - and for at least ten years.
Scientists studied and assessed the health of more than one hundred and seventy thousand volunteer participants. Details of the results of the study can be read in the well-known periodical "The Daily Mail".
At the end of the laborious experiment, the researchers managed to prove that spending a lot of time solving puzzles and crosswords leads to a significant activation of brain activity. The specialists offered the participants of the experiment to perform various tasks, based on the results of which they could evaluate their mental abilities. Crossword lovers coped with such tasks much better and faster, regardless of age.
A similar experiment was conducted by scientists from Australia. They found that solving crosswords is a kind of training for the brain. Moreover, such training can be started at any age, even at an advanced age.
Significantly, the results of the studies also found that various mobile applications and programs designed for similar brain training had a less pronounced effect. Such applications did not affect the participants' cognitive abilities in any way - the quality of speech, memory, the ability to analyze actions and evaluate them.
You can solve crosswords almost anywhere: over a cup of coffee in a cafe, on a bench in the park, at a bus stop while waiting for transport, etc. That is, this activity is quite unpretentious in place and time. But the benefit from it is quite noticeable - this will become especially noticeable after years.
For homebodies, experts recommend doing puzzles - you can choose any picture and any size, and start training your brain while enjoying an exciting game. This pastime will help develop logical thinking, strengthen attention, and improve analytical and strategic abilities.
By the way, puzzles are recognized as the most popular brain teasers in the world. Many people associate this activity with children's games, but the beneficial effect of such a game is incredibly strong. In addition, there are a huge number of puzzles for both children and adults.
Scientists have made certain conclusions that they would like to share with everyone: don’t be shy about solving riddles and puzzles at any age. Such an activity doesn’t require much time – and the effect, according to experts, won’t take long to come.
