Experts have long known that boys develop mentally more slowly than girls, besides this, boys develop with some delay, which is not considered a deviation from the norm.

The research team from Norway was interested in this developmental distinction between female and male sex and conducted an observation that resulted in the finding that the male hormone testosterone has a direct link to the development of speech in boys.

In their new project, a group of scientists observed children aged 3 to 5 years, more than 10,000 children participated in the experiment. All scientists were divided into 3 groups:

  • the first group identified children who had pronounced problems with the development of speech;
  • the second - with temporary problems of speech development (at 3 years);
  • in the third - children with the development of speech disorders at the age of five.

After specialists analyzed the data, they noted that there were more boys in the first and second groups. Experts explain this by the fact that because of the prevalence of testosterone in the male embryo is more likely the development of speech disorders. To confirm their assumptions, the scientists took samples of the amniotic fluid for analysis and examined it for the presence of testosterone in it. As it turned out, the high content of testosterone not only retards the development of speech, but can also cause autism (in recent years, the number of children with such mental disabilities has increased significantly). In general, the researchers found that boys are twice as likely to have abnormalities in speech development than girls at the same age.

However, as scientists believe, not only the hormones are to blame for the development of speech. According to the results of observations, scientists have established that genetics plays an important role in this. As experts say, if parents had problems with reading or writing in their childhood, most likely the child will also have similar problems.

As shown earlier studies of scientists, testosterone not only affects the sexual desire or secondary sexual characteristics of men, but also contributes to their honesty. In this experiment, 90 men participated, who were divided into two groups. The first group of specialists gave testosterone, and the second - tablux-putty. After that, the participants of the experiment were asked to play a game - in dice, where in order to win a fairly large prize, it was necessary to cheat. As it turned out, in a group in which men were given testosterone, fraud occurred several times less. According to scientists, male hormone increases personal self-esteem and generates a sense of pride in men, so they become more honest.

In addition, scientists have found that the male sex hormone makes the immunity of men more vulnerable, so the male body is less resistant to viruses and infections, in contrast to the female.
