Throughout life, a person is relatively safe, because hidden threats surround him everywhere: traffic, extreme temperatures in winter and summer, and much more. However, most people know how to avoid daily risks to life. But there are also people for whom balancing on the edge is just fun and they are not afraid of mortal danger, such people need adrenaline like air.
Two of the five most dangerous competitions that we will tell you about have recently been banned, but thrill-seekers are resourceful guys and will probably soon come up with a new nerve-tickling entertainment for themselves.
Sauna Championship
This pair competition was born in 1999 in Finland. According to the rules, only healthy adults are allowed to compete. The essence of the championship is to stay in the steam room as long as possible. But it is not that simple. Participants begin to compete at a temperature of 110 degrees Celsius, every 30 seconds a liter of water is poured onto the hot stones. Not everyone can withstand this, or rather, very few. Unfortunately, in 2010, the race for victory led to tragic results: already in the final of the competition, when Novosibirsk resident Vladimir Ladyzhensky died from severe burns. His competitor, Finn Timo Kaukonnen, survived, but also ended up in the hospital with severe burns.

World Freediving Championships Vertical Blue
Held in the Bahamas, this competition attracts the world's best freedivers. The participants are not short of courage, as they must fight the urge to gulp air and risk losing consciousness when diving to great depths. William Trubridge, Natalia Molchanova, Martina Stepanek - these people bravely face the elements, and they are tested by them.
Dinka Tribal Competition (Sudan)
We all know what it is to overeat, especially on holidays, but the men of the Dinka tribe can show us how to overeat by their own example. Every year, the young men of this tribe stuff their stomachs to the brim, and this does not happen in one go – the men overeat for several months and try to limit their activity as much as possible so as not to lose the calories. They look as if they swallowed a watermelon. At the end of the preparation period for the competition, the participants crawl to the center of the “arena”, leaning on sticks. Then the tribe evaluates each participant’s success and chooses the fattest participant, who has grown the biggest belly. According to the contestants themselves, the threat of death does not frighten them, because it is an honor for them to die in this way.
Hold Your Wee for a Wii Contest
In January 2007, California radio station KDND hosted a morning show called "Hold Your Wee for a Wii." The idea was to drink as much water as possible while holding back from going to the bathroom. The most resilient of the contestants was 28-year-old Jennifer Strange, a mother of three, who managed to drink 7.5 liters of water and did not visit the ladies' room once during the entire competition. However, such heroism led to tragic consequences - she suffered from headaches the entire next day, and died in the morning. Doctors confirmed her death due to water intoxication. As a result, the show was closed and the hosts were fired.
Free soloing
Free Soloing means free climbing. This term means that the climber does not have any equipment and if he falls, no one will help him. It would seem that such an extreme sport cannot have many fans who consciously go to their death, but this is not so - there are more than enough thrill-seekers. Another feature of this deadly dangerous activity is that the difficulty level of the climb must be obviously lower than the real capabilities of the climber. Unfortunately, many exaggerate their strength, which leads to fatal outcomes.
