Healthy Eating and No Excess Food Day is a new and so far unofficial holiday. Its initiators were a large group of participants in a social network for those who want to lose weight. The idea was born as a kind of response to the American holiday "National Eat What You Want Day". In contrast to this "Gluttony Day", the initiative to establish "No Excess Food Day" was put forward.

The idea quickly received widespread support and was recognized as timely and necessary.

Thus, June 2, 2011 became the birthday of the holiday, the main theme of which is to attract the attention of the general public to issues of food culture.

It is no secret that the number of overweight people is growing noticeably year after year. The reasons for this are rooted in a variety of aspects of life. Bad eating habits, psychological dependence on food, a variety of contradictory information about the benefits and harms of certain products... Skipping breakfast, grabbing a quick lunch, having a large late dinner... Often we eat not because we are hungry or need nutrients, but because we are dissatisfied with life and cannot find the best way to calm ourselves down in a stressful situation. Food serves to satisfy not physiological but emotional needs: love, security, acceptance, emotional satisfaction.

All this has the most adverse effect on health. The number of obesity-related diseases is growing. The number of charlatans and businessmen who profit from people's desire to lose weight is also growing. Faith in magic pills and drinks, in quick and easy relief from excess weight accumulated over the years sometimes leads to irreparable harm to health, and often simply to the loss of money thrown to the wind...

Healthy Eating and No Excessive Food Day is intended to remind us that we are responsible for what we feed our bodies. Let this day bring more reliable and useful information about which eating habits are good for health and beauty, and which are harmful and dangerous; how to properly build your diet so that it is tasty, balanced and does not lead to excess weight.

And it is on this day that everyone who wants to become slimmer and has not yet begun to realize their dream can begin their path to slimness. A common aspiration simplifies the solution to the problem, makes the first step easier, gives a starting point. Down with excess food and extra pounds! Long live healthy eating! Give up extra food at least for today. Eat only to satisfy physical hunger, simple and healthy food. A journey of a thousand kilometers begins with the first step. Take this step!
