Would you trade sex for sweets? A third of single women are ready to sacrifice intimate pleasures, but not their favorite foods.
They say that chocolate is a powerful aphrodisiac, but for some ladies, its taste is enough to get pleasure, and no continuation is required. As it became known after the survey, every third single woman would rather remain without sex for a year than without her favorite food. A total of 4,000 people took part in the survey.
But for men, sex turned out to be a much more important activity than eating their favorite cookies and kebabs. Only 16% of the surveyed representatives of the stronger sex agree to go without sex for the sake of food. However, the second study showed that it is not only lonely men and women who find solace in food.
Of the 3,500 married people surveyed, 28% would easily replace marital duties with a good dinner. And if these data still don't seem sad to you, how about this information: although most respondents who are ready to trade sex for food will do so for a steak or chocolate, some will give up intimacy in favor of a vegetable salad, sushi, and even a ripe banana! How "pleasant" must sex with a partner be for a person to be ready to trade it for a banana?
"I think that many people take sex for granted, and therefore do not value it too much," sexologist Ian Kerner comments on the results of the study. "It may also be that they fail to get enough pleasure from intimate relationships. For married people, sex becomes routine over the years. The partners have gotten to know each other well, they are tired, they want something new. And sex in the full sense of the word looks like the fulfillment of difficult duties. It is much more pleasant to eat a cake or a Bavarian sausage."
