Russian scientists in the Moscow region are working on creating a unique vaccine that will help you quit smoking. Specialists from the research nano-laboratory, which is located in Khimki, have already conducted the first stage of clinical trials, which was quite successful. Now the scientists are entering the second stage of research, which consists of checking the effectiveness of the vaccine, its clinical significance, and also conducting allergy tests. Russian scientists plan that in five years the vaccine may appear on the market.

The researchers hope that their invention will make a real breakthrough in the fight against smoking. With the help of such a vaccine, the process of quitting the bad habit will be quite easy and without significant harm to health. The principle of action of the vaccine against smoking is similar to any other vaccine - the human body, after the introduction of the drug, begins to actively produce antibodies that bind nicotine in the blood, thereby preventing it from entering the brain. As a result, nicotine cannot get to a certain area of the brain responsible for pleasure, and the person stops enjoying the smoked cigarette. The vaccine is a kind of molecular container that will deliver the active substance of the drug to the cells of the body, which trigger the immune response.

Previously, the development of this vaccine was carried out in the United States, but Russia received a grant from the Ministry of Industry and Trade and, as a result, all development was transferred to the Moscow region.

In the modern world, the fight against smoking is defined as an important social task in almost every country in the world. Smoking problems affect not only the public, but also the government. Currently, the fight against smoking is being waged in almost all countries of the world in one form or another. The methods of fighting smoking are varied: eliminating "passive" smoking, preventing smoking, reducing the harmful properties of tobacco, encouraging smoking cessation and assistance in treatment. The main form of smoking cessation is precisely the propaganda of the harm of smoking from a medical point of view, since smoking is considered an action that a person can consciously control.

Previously, Swedish experts proved that smoking causes changes in the body, increasing the risk of developing cancer, diabetes, in addition, the bad habit has a negative effect on the genes that are responsible for immunity and sperm quality. Scientists are sure that human genes undergo changes over time, under the influence of various external factors, but smokers are most susceptible to gene mutations. Scientists believe that gene mutations are caused by substances that are formed during cigarette burning and enter the body when inhaled. In all smoking volunteers, specialists found many damaged and mutated genes. Scientists from Sweden suggest that their research will help smokers think about the harm of smoking and thereby prevent the development of many serious diseases.
