Social advertising has firmly entered our life, and fulfills its main mission - the humanization of society through the popularization of its significant values. It makes people think about topical issues of our time, about health, children and relations with them. The problem of strengthening the family and family relations are topical issues of the modern world.
One of the problems that social messages can solve is talking with teenagers about the delicate topic of sex. Many parents do not know how to approach and where to start a conversation "about this".
Specialists from the George Washington National University and RTI International speak of the extraordinary benefits of social advertising on this issue.
The goal of the study of scientists is the impact of social advertising on adolescents and their parents.
During the research, during 18 months specialists monitored the development of relations between 1200 parents and children who were subjected to social "processing". The impact on them was provided with the help of printed and audiovisual means, which could contribute to the emancipation of children and parents, as well as the establishment of trust between them.
The control group, which included 700 subjects, was not subjected to this "treatment".
The positive effect of the influence of social messengers on the development of the father-child relationship was found, while the relations in the control group remained at the same level.
Nevertheless, the nature of the relationship between the mother and the child has practically not changed in any of the groups. Only a few of the advances that have been made through social advertising have been noted.
"In this study, we wanted to learn more about models of communicative relationships between adults and children, and also understand how effective the impact of social advertising is on them," says Dr. Jonathan Blitstein, lead author of the study. - We found that mothers and fathers react differently to these reports. This may be due to the fact that mothers often talk with their children on sensitive topics. We also saw the positive effect of the repeated impact of printed and audiovisual media that carry the right message and are able to convince a person. "
When the research came to an end, the communication between fathers and children reached an approximate level, as the basic link between children and mothers.
